News Values The news article appeals to the target audience of typical tabloid readers by using the alliteration in the very large main headline. In addition to this, the paper uses the simple yet effective concrete noun "storm" to portray the disaster of the BBC's Brexit bias easily to the readers. Articles on Brexit appeal to most as the decision will impact on everyones lives. Furthermore, the use of the adjective "gloomy" in the sub-headline attracts an older-generation of readers, the target market for the paper, as it is unlikely to hear a youth stating such adjectives. The tone of the article is critical of the BBC and positions the reader with the Brexit voters. Even though the BBC may not be reporting the Brexit positivity due to the ambiguity of the referendum result, the right wing Daily Mail is quick to criticise the slightly left wing BBC due to this.
